“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”
JOHN 1:1-3

GOD’S DREAM

God’s dream – expressed through the commissioning vision of Jesus’ final words on earth – is to see every expression of humanity, both individual and corporate, restored by the Spirit of God through the redemptive message of the gospel.

He wants every person to have the opportunity experience God’s life and be adopted into the community of the family of God (Mark 16:15). He wants every nation to be able to experience the transformative impact of the kingdom of God in every dimension of its cultural life, shaping every Sphere of Society.

This is a compelling dream-a dream which calls us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength until is has become an experiential reality here on earth.

Until then we work and pray as he taught us, “your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” – Matt 6:10 NIV

The Year of the Bible exists to recognize and celebrate the unparalleled role that the Bible has had over thousands of years in the history of the world.

The Bible is the all-time global best-selling book, having been translated into more languages than any other book in history, and having been read or listened to by more people in more places than any other literary work.

The Year of the Bible exists to motivate and encourage Christians to share the Word of God with their neighbors in many culturally-appropriate ways.

Christians everywhere need to encourage the translation, publication, and distribution of the Bible, and help educate and motivate people so that everyone can engage with the life-giving words of the Holy Scriptures.

The Year of the Bible will lay the foundation for the Decade of the Bible.

Measurable objectives for the Year and Decade of the Bible include:

Eradicate Bible PovertyEducate on foundational principlesEquip all churches and organizationsMobilize, train and deploy
Previous Previous Previous Next Next Next

Eradicate Bible poverty across the globe.

The Bible will be made available to every person in the world using relevant languages and formats.

This would include launching Bible engagement initiatives in all 4,000 Omega Zones of the earth. This engagement will continue down through district, community, neighborhood, home and individual levels.

Educate society on the foundational principles in the Bible for all areas of life (all 7 Spheres).

  • Education
  • Family
  • Government
  • Economics
    (Business, Science & Technology)
  • Religion
  • Media
  • Celebration
    (Arts, Entertainment & Sports)

Equip all churches and organizations with the appropriate Bible engagement tools to reach their nation.

There are 2.4 billion people who confess to be Christians in the world. Research has shown that many of these have a limited understanding of the Bible. This is true even in developed nations.

Christian churches will be equipped to implement comprehensive plans for personal and corporate Bible studies. This would include making the scripture available to new Christians.

Mobilize, train and deploy a new generation of public proclaimers of the Word.

God’s Word needs to be restored to the public forum across the globe (using all means of communication to teach and preach).

All believers should be taught and equipped to share their faith. This was clearly stated by Jesus.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
