 Al Caperna
Al Caperna is CEO of CMC Group based in Bowling Green, Ohio, where he has also started a Call2All Chapter. He is a ‘serial entrepreneur’ having started fifteen businesses, and being named Master Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in 1995. He says:
“God is at the centre of everything. The mission statement of our business is: We exist to embody the Christian life in Christian practices.
“We have to ask what the redemptive purpose is in everything we do, and if we can’t find that redemptive purpose, then we question if should be doing it.”
A Christian since college days, Caperna made a commitment to go to an unreached people group in whatever way he could as a businessman. He was at the Call2All Congress in Orlando in 2008 when he made this promise to God.
In just six months Caperna has had huge success in bringing the gospel to a closed country. With his Call2All Chapter and a mission partner he has been able to send a missionary and a businessman over to an unreached people group. Already they have had talks to the Director of Education in the country, and have permission to teach English orally using Bible stories. They are also looking to start a business.
There is no official sign-up for the Business Network yet. However hundreds of business leaders come through the business courses at the Call2All congresses and are networking with multiple organizations. It is a movement that is growing fast and bringing unity to the sacred and the secular. Businessmen are becoming missionaries while staying within their sphere of influence and that is very exciting.
