We recently held a congress in Naorobi, Kenya. The locals have taken what they learned and are spreading it throughout the region. Here is a report in just one category in relation to our orality theme.
Similar reports are coming back from other parts of the world.
People are taking ownership and spreading the word themselves. Next week we will share what's happening with the global business network.
If you live in the Mideast, be sure to be part of our December congress. Just hit the registration button below. Enjoy the report.

Report From Africa - By Samuel Chiang - International Orality Network

I have just returned from Arua, Uganda, next to the Congo and Sudan border.
Bramuel Musya and myself were conducting follow-up orality training from last year's Call2All Congress in Kenya. There were so many encouraging events and milestones that I thought to summarize them in a short email. Here we go.
- Call2All Kenya Congress has yielded critical mass and a movement commenced:
- Kenya Chapter meeting every two weeks;
- Call2All Keyna planning 6 Congresses in 2010, and up to 12 events in 2012 (prior to their country's election);
- ION & Call2All Training multiplying within Kenya and in East Africa;
- ION & MANI & Straight Path Resources training started other organizations training their pastors and personnel;
- Individuals trained in the above events have practiced story-telling and watched people of various religious backgrounds coming to Jesus.
- A Call2All in Naivasha (two hours out of Nairobi in the direction of Rift Valley) was held in September, 300 registrants were there. They started with an all night prayer meeting prior to the event. Bramuel Musya handled 3 themes: orality, UUPG, and spiritual mapping.
- January 2009 training in Kenya has yielded the following: a. the denominations continually working with Straight Path Resources on training; b. the Massai pastors who were trained in January are now training in their churches all over the Massai land and desires more direct training within their region.
- October 2009, Arua, Uganda training had 75 registrants. The event was officially hosted by World Gospel Mission and Africa Gospel Church, who were introduced to oral strategies at a past ION/MANI Orality conference.
- The geographical distribution included participants from Sudan, Uganda, and Kenya (15). There were also participants there who are working in Congo and Rwanda.
- The participants can be put into two groups with about half frontline evangelists, and half who are top church / denominational leaders; also we had civil servants and also people involved in micro-financing ministries. There were also two Bishops in the audience, including Bishop Patrick N. Njuguna. The two Bishops brought along the top denominational leaders from Kenya.
- Bishop Patrick N. Njuguna intends to incorporate all Call2All themes into his denomination so that they can become a 21st century church. He has already personally taught orality for three months to his own congregation. He has also taken one of the orality curriculum and is piloting through two of his churches at least one story per-week over the next year so that he can send more workers out.
