Congress Closing Highlights: Commitments
Friday 23rd January, 2009
A Call to Commitment at the Call2all Congress
The final morning began with teaching and discussions on church planting, led by Jim Haney of the International Mission Board, before Bruce Wilkinson, author of The Prayer Of Jabez exhorted the delegates towards making commitments before God to see the Great Commission fulfilled.
The culmination of the week, after all the new ways of ministry thinking and hearing from the frontiers of what God is doing and how to be involved is the commitment ceremony.
The delegates gathered in affinity groups and were asked to make prayerful corporate commitments towards seeing the Great Commission fulfilled by 2020.
They were asked to make these commitments in a number of specific areas: number of people to be reached with the Gospel, expected decisions for Christ, new churches to be planted, engaging with the unengaged unreached people groups, oral bible teams to be sent, houses of prayer to be planted and new omega zones to be adopted.
This was a powerful, holy time before the Lord,as delegates and the organizations they represented made plans and commitments to take major leaps forward in fulfilling the Great Commission.
