The second and third day of the Call2all Congress in Nairobi can be compared with the aging of wine. As the main themes of the Congress were unpacked, the level of engagement among participants continued to steadily grow.

State of the Gospel in East Africa

Bishop Kabachia, the Regional Coordinator of Movement for Africa National Initiatives (MANI) presented a session on the “State of the Gospel” in the region of East Africa. He commented that a recent research done on the number of unreached people groups in Kenya sparked a challenge that has resulted in every tribe being engaged with the gospel.

Unengaged Unreached People Groups

Building on that, Paul Eshleman, the Director of Finishing the Task shared about the Unengaged and Unreached People Groups (UUPGs) of the world. He cited that statistically, the most unreached tribes in Africa are concentrated in Sudan. He challenged participants to ask God for a new heart and a new perspective in order to go.

“It is our job to make the decision, it is God’s job to solve the problem” said Paul.

Participants were challenged to break away in small groups to discuss a set of questions, of which the hindrances towards going to the least was one of them.

Reaching Oral Learners

Avery Willis, Bramuel Musya and Samuel Chiang, the International Orality Network team presented a simple, yet powerful introduction and demonstration to the effectiveness of using oral methods to reach 2 thirds of the world who are oral learners.

“70% of the bible is made up of stories” said Bramuel.

During practical exercises, the group was challenged to re-tell stories and as well as discuss ways to reach the oral learners in the region.

Jim Haney and Bishop Christopher Tindimwebwa, National Coordinator of Faith Evangelistic Center in Uganda presented some models of effective Church planting movements.

Women of Excellence

The women also held an inspirational session simultaneously,in a separate hall. Dr. Judy Mbugua spoke to a groups of women leaders on the topic “A woman of Excellence”. A testimony by a former Ambassador to the UN, Mary Odinga created a positive encouragement for the ladies as she shared about how God used her through all her years of service to open doors of ministry in high places.
